We had so many people come up to us and tell us that they'd never seen so many people dancing at once in my family, especially at a daytime wedding, and that it was the most fun at a wedding they had in years! We just got back from St. Martin and wanted to say thank you so much for doing a great job at our wedding! I kept meaning to talk to people, but the kick ass tunes kept me on the dance floor, and as I'm sure you saw, we had some crazy dancers out there for much of the night. Between cartwheels, various approaches to the Robot, and dances that cannot be described in words, it was clear from guests' moves that everyone had an awesome time, much of which can be attributed to your reading of the crowd and great music choices. We couldn't have asked for more and are so glad you were a part of our celebration!

Gary was nothing less than perfect! He is so attentive and sweet, so understanding and comforting. He absolutely listened to all of our requests and he really knew how to work the crowd. Our guests danced all night. There was such high energy, people were absolutely loving the music!!
Throughout the planning process he was very responsive which is really a rare thing with wedding vendors. We heard from him every time we had a question big or small. Like I said, it was such a comfort knowing he was on ouyr team. We love him and are trying to figure out an occasion when we can use him again

Gary was an AMAZING dj for our wedding, he was extremely well organized from the beginning, making sure we were covered in every aspect from the ceremony, through to the last dance. He was accommodating, and flexible during the planning process, and was always responsive to emails, phone calls, and questions we posed for him.
Of course, the most important thing - he was an amazing DJ the night of our wedding. All of our guests, young and old, complimented us on the job he did. The music was quiet at the right times, bumping at the right times, and he fit the mood from our introductions, to cake cutting and all the other mini events of the evening.
We gave Gary a short list of songs, and left the majority of the planning up to him after sharing our tastes, and he was right on all night.
In short, we truly loved his work, and work ethic. He was positive and accommodating, helpful and on time :)

We had our wedding on 6/2708 and it was amazing. Gary was at the place venue 3 hours before the ceremony started. He set-up speakers for the outside ceremony, set-up speakers in the room for the Cocktail hour and also set-up a home base in the room where the reception was to take place. Everything we asked him to do was done and taken care of. Throughout the night he kept us updated on what his ideas where for the next group of songs. We gave him a relatively small list of songs and only required him to play abut five. We literally left it up to him. My family is largely Italian and very traditional, some-how someway, Gary got everyone up and dancing and I had many of my relatives dancing around and having a great time. I really could not be more pleased with him and his service. He is down to earth and just gets it. Most of the other DJ's we talked to didn't appear to care what we wanted, it was almost like they were telling me how they will do it based on an outline of how they do every wedding. Gary was excited to try some new levels, and he had a lot of fun working WITH us to get the right vibe and song selections. Loved him!!!! Put down the deposit, Gary is the man!!

Many of our friends commented on how they had never seen a dj wearing a suit and tie. It is but one mark of Gary's utter professionalism and we were thrilled that he kept us dancing even after we were exhausted. Gary kept a close eye and ear on the vibe of the room, switching seamlessly between songs. Additionally he had the experience to ask us to adjust the time and pacing of the cake cutting to accommodate more and sustained dancing versus breaking the dancing into shorter 30-45 minute segments where we might lose the energy of the room. Gary might dj for a lot of us independently-minded brides but he is intent on providing a solid and fun experience all around. His dj skills helped to make the night a fun, easy, and relaxing one for the bride and groom.
Plus he is a genuinely nice guy and very calm. I have found it really helps to work with calm vendors when you get stressed because they can help in righting your ship. Moreover he didn't add to the stress unlike other vendors we interviewed by saying that we "had to" play an entrance song, a cake cutting song or a parents' dance song and he was very flexible and worked with us on playing songs he knew that we would enjoy as much as our guests. We really appreciated his can do attitude and calm demeanor, plus it is evident that he loves what he does.

Gary was a DJ at our wedding this past Saturday and I would say that my level of satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 5 would be 5+++. I really don't have anything negative to say about him. He was a dream to work with, both before the wedding and during the wedding. He is extremely organized and made my pre-wedding planning very easy. He was in touch with me just enough, but not too much. His level of professionalism is really incomparable to anyone else.
He did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Everything was fantastic. He played all of the music we wanted to hear and did not play any of our do not play songs. At one point during the wedding I looked around an saw every single one of our tables empty and that's because everyone was on the floor dancing. I can not tell you what a great feeling that was. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and would highly recommmend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

Gary (or DJ Gaza) really made our evening fantastic. Our guests had a great time on the dance floor. He really felt the vibe of the party and continued to play great music throughout to keep people dancing. Everyone had a great time dancing (from the teenagers to the grandparents). He was also nothing but professional throughout the entire process. He makes you feel at ease from the first meeting. If my wife and I had to plan our wedding again, one of the first things we would do would be to hire Gary.

DJ Gaza was truly the foundation for what turned out to be an amazing night. For me (a former NYC club girl) and my husband (a European with an extensive and diverse range of taste), music was both the most important and most challenging part of the wedding planning. Challenging only because we needed a dj who could appreciate our musical tastes as well as our families. We are all dancers and we danced madly and happily the whole night. There was not a single song Gary played that I felt I could sit out on. And I can't tell you how unbelievably picky I can be about this whole thing. I gave Gary an extensive play list and asked him to take it and expand on it. He perfectly calibrated the night to our musical tastes and then brought it somewhere even better. It was probably my best dance night ever. AND he happens to be the nicest, most easy-going and responsible guy. My wife and I were extremely happy with Gary's work. After the first time we met him we looked at each other with a sense of relief that we no longer had to worry about the music, he had it covered. He was so professional each time we met, and his skill as a DJ was very clear. We had a Sunday night wedding so people weren't in as much of an all-out party mood, but he had the floor really moving. For the very few MC duties we needed him for (announcing speeches) he was great. We did a full sit-down dinner with more mellow music, and then after dinner got the dance party going... for the mellow music I gave Gary a list of some hard to find songs and he found most of them, and then expanded on my taste with some songs that I loved, and fit really well with the rest of the set. For the dancing part of the night, we gave him just a couple of requests and told him to just make sure people were out on the floor, he worked it like a true professional! If you've found Gary, look no further, he's got you covered!

Gary was great! My guest loved him – from the 18 year old to the 85 year old. We were looking for someone that wasn’t that over the top, corny DJ and that was Gary. We told him what we didn’t want to hear and a handful of what we did and let him take care of everything else. We had no interest in putting a play list together for him. He played a combo of some new stuff as well as the classics which got everyone dancing. It was a great decision to go with him, we couldn't have been happier with his service.

DJ Gaza did an excellent job at our wedding. We had a conservative budget but music was very important to us. We really wanted the whole reception to be a large party and he delivered just that. We like music you can dance to...a club type atmosphere. He did that perfectly, really better than I could have expected. Everyone had a fantastic time and the reception ended up going on for an extra hour. We were all having so much fun. He’s a really good guy and did 99.9% of what he said he’ll do. We did not want a wedding with interactive songs or a DJ that gets involved speaking or that type of stuff. DJ Gaza did exactly what we wanted and we thought he was the best!

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon and we’re STILL listening to people rave about how much they liked Gary’s music! To give you some background, we had a non-traditional wedding. We had an "extended" cocktail hour specifically because we wanted to promote socializing and keep everyone our of their seats and dancing. My wife and I have some particular music tastes. We are pretty social and very particular about our music. We did NOT want to hear any of the "traditional" wedding songs and we really wanted to throw a fun party.
I loved everything about Gary’s work. He was unbelievably professional. He worked PERFECTLY with the photographer, caterer, and venue. He helped us with timing our event and controlling the crowd. He was almost like a wedding planner because he lent his extensive experience to what works best and WHEN it should work. He was so abatable to the crowd and kept everyone moving and having fun all night long. He also incorporated 90% of our "suggested music" list into the night. Best of all, he seemed like he had a great time with the music and his good vibes spilled out into the crowd.
Again, our guests were in shock about how much fun they had. Per our request, most of the music was geared to the younger crowd but even older guests had a great time. True story: at one point, my brother-in-laws mother (she’s in her 60's and literally hasn’t had a night out dancing in about 20 years) just got up out of her chair and started dancing because she couldn’t help herself. Most (if not all) of our guests said it was the BEST reception they’d ever been to.
If you are hiring Gary, plan on having a lively and fluid event. Give him creative space to help work with you and he will drive the event (from planning, to setup, to execution). Make sure he’s keyed in to all of your other vendors so they are all comfortable working together. Make sure he knows what you want so he can make suggestions of his own. It would be a waste of his talent to force feed him YOUR unwavering idea of what your event should be.
My wife and I have a lot of DJ and industry friends. Before we met Gary, most of our other candidates were big room club DJ’s with much less wedding experience. We also used the NY Wedding’s magazine vendor list to cold call a few other DJ’s. Our recently married friends also made some recommendations. After all the consideration and all the phone calls, we met with Gary and KNEW he was perfect. We did not meet with anyone else after the first exchange. The thing that tipped the scales was Gary’s professionalism, his good nature, good vibes, and extensive wedding experience.
I have nothing negative to say about Gary. In no exaggeration, he was perfect.

We used DJ Gaza (aka Gary) for our wedding in October 2007 and were VERY happy with him! He was very professional and just a great all around DJ! He always replied promptly to any questions we had and showed up on time for each of our meetings (actually, he beat us there!) He asked all the right questions and really came to know exactly what we wanted. He played everything we asked him to, and NOTHING from our "do not play" list. We wanted a DJ who would play great music without being cheesy, and he was absolutely perfect in that role! He was able to keep people dancing late into the night, even on a Sunday night! He was very flexible and was willing to play as many or as few of our choices as we wanted. We gave him a lot of leeway to play what he wanted as well and were very happy with that choice. He always knew when to change tempo or fade out a song if people weren't dancing; he definitely paid attention to the "vibe" of the room and kept everyone happy!
We had a fantastic time, and every time we speak to a guest they're always really excited to tell us how great it was. We're really proud of the whole event, and obviously the music was a huge part of it. I'm not normally much of a dancer, but found myself on the dance floor every chance I got. We both thank you for your professionalism, flexibility, and generally making the party go so well. It was a big help to us that you were willing to put in the time beforehand to get to know us, listen, and advise and we really appreciate it.

Gary, first, let me thank you! You are so amazing, and we were so unbelievably happy with your whole set, and our entire experience interacting with you as a "vendor". Throughout the night, I kept looking over at you as you were mixing, and it just looked so awesome. I really felt like I had such a professional doing my reception. All the guests were blown away by the song selection and the incredible mixing. It was always fun to see a new throng of partiers rushing the dance floor as they heard the beginning elements of a new song through the one already playing. You know how important the mixing was to me, and I have to say, your sample CDs, while great, don't even do half the justice to your skill in person. Amazing!
My calves are still sore today from dancing all night long. Kase said that it had to have been my perfect night, since I didn't leave the dance floor once. I was joking around with him about how we seated my "dancing" friends near the floor to get the party started, but I can see from the photos how unnecessary that was. It looks like there was a bum rush onto the floor after the dance with my father, and it looks as if the dance floor expanded past the point where it ended. I think that speaks volumes. My father wrote to say he is still on a high, and I have to agree. It was such a wonderful party and you were the major reason for that. THANK YOU!

I would definitely recommend Gaza to DJ your event. In our initial meeting he gave us some mixed CDs (surprisingly unlike most other DJs we met with) to hear his musical style and mixing skills. I am a DJ myself, so this went a long way for me. Especially since I am aware that most wedding DJ’s simply end one track and start another or use a generic fade. This may or may not be important to you, but it really does make a difference to the overall party when someone layers and builds on the vibe from track to track.
Gary was very professional and made sure to get to the venue early to take care of additional set up needs. Things went off without a hitch. He played an excellent mix of our requests and his own touches, giving the cocktail hour a really cool vibe. After the first dance, he kicked it up instantly and had everyone dancing all night. Seriously. We had a blast! I have friends that are getting married in other states (even as far as Portland, OR) that asked me if they thought he would fly out.
There is also one more way in which Gary is the antithesis of the "standard" wedding DJ, and that is with his MC’ing. He got with us on just what parts we needed announced
(cake cutting, speeches, first dance), but didn't go gabbing all night about this and that or "everybody get on the dance floor" (so annoying!). Instead, he let the music speak for itself and people were out there all night.
I can't really think of anything we didn't like. We really did have the perfect night, and 2 weeks later, everyone is still talking about it. Part of which definitely has to do with Gary setting up the right vibe. My wife is even talking about asking her company about
having him DJ their Christmas party.

Gary was AWESOME and there is nothing more we could have asked for. We found out about him through our wedding consultant/planner, who is herself very accomplished and great at what she does. She had already worked with Gary several times and she recommended him highly.
Gary is personally wonderful to work with. At a time when we were
stressed out, he was calm and laid-back. We took forever to get our
request list to him, but he took whatever info he did have from us,and used that to figure out what we would like played. So when we got
around to giving him specific requests, he had already done the
groundwork.
Gary was a wonderful accomplice when we wanted to spice the wedding up a little bit. For our recessional, we played Pachelbel's Canon in D,
but a version that suddenly breaks out into electric guitar and 80's
style rock. Gary was delighted with the personal touch, and he took
care to time the music perfectly, so that the music started to rock
out just as we got to the end of the aisle, giving us the chance to
see our guests react to the unexpected change in the music.
Besides the Pachelbel stunt, we really wanted the wedding to be an
elegant and classy affair, and Gary was perfect for that. He lets the
music take the foreground; there was no awkward loud booming from the
DJ telling people to get up and dance with plastic inflatable
flamingoes or saxophones. He stayed very much in the background,
coming forward only when he was MC'ing, for example when he made the
introductions to the bridal party or called on people to make the
toasts, and then doing so graciously.
We don't think there's anything more that we could have
asked for in a DJ. Of all our vendors, he was the easiest to contact
and the easiest to talk to and the easiest to work with - which is
high praise because all our vendors were awesome.

So my baby sister got married this weekend. One of the highlights of the afternoon was Gary, who made the wedding feel like a dance club. He stayed away from too much MCing and let the bride and groom enjoy the spotlight. He played Blondie, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, A-ha (a request from the ring bearer), Outkast and Deee Lite, to name a few. He even played some polkas, a nod to all the partying Polish-Americans in attendance. We used Gary for our wedding in April. He was great. We didn't even interview anyone else since. I sent out an email asking for feedback and got back so many glowing responses that it seemed like a no brainer to have him DJ the wedding. All the positive feedback didn't have me worried about the music aspect of the wedding at all.
Gary did the music for our ceremony and reception. He played our "must plays" and didn't play any songs from our "no play" list. When he threw in his own stuff, they were songs that we liked as well. He just seemed to get our taste right away.
One thing that really impressed me is that he came to set up for the wedding two and a half hours before the ceremony! The reception place didn't even want him to come until a half hour before, so he solved that problem by just showing up early anyway, and hoping they would let him set up, and if not, he was fine with just sitting with his equipment and waiting versus arriving, being all nervous, and running around like crazy a half hour before the ceremony. There were no unwelcomed surprises at all. He even handled my drunk friends and family who were requesting music to no end. When they asked for music I didn't want, he was very polite about telling them no.
In short, Gary was professional, informative and just plain nice. He was not cheesy at all and MC'd great. We are very glad we used him! He is a real DJ who can actually mix and and has DJ equipment (turntables) and not just a laptop and speakers.

Our guests cant stop saying enough great things about you. You did an incredible job and you did exactly what we hoped for. You read the crowd and maximized our dance and party time! You played our favorites at just the right time and kicked it up with party hip-hop in the last hour. I am not a dancer and you had me dancing all night. And everyone was surprised and impressed at how long we all danced. They say they have never had this much fun at a wedding. Old and young all had a blast. By the way your introductions were perfect.

Gary was better than can be imagined and we were not exactly the easiest couple to deal with! Gary is very organized and a pleasure to work with. His experience is extreamly helpful when you are planning something that you have never done before, like a wedding. He asks questions you never would have thought of and is prepared for anything. Not only did we delay answering questions he had until 2 days before our wedding, but on the day of, due to an unfortunate family event, we had to make last minute changes and he still made things run as if he had been prepared for weeks.
He also caters to your musical needs. You will provide him with a list of songs and he will use it as a foundation to create a playlist for you and your guests and will improvise by reading the crowd which worked wonders during my wedding. A friend of mine is a DJ and she came up to me and raved about him and the way he mixed the songs and the music selection, so, I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with DJ Gaza!!!

I managed a restaurant, planned many wedding parties, and have had the pleasure of working with Gary on many occasions. He stands out from other DJ's for many reasons:
1. Gary takes his job very seriously and is always prepared.
2. He is good at working with customers, when they have songs they want to hear he mixes them in seamlessly.
3. Gary has an amazing ability to read a crowd and play music they like. I've seen DJ's with such strong music tastes that it over powers their desire to play what people want to hear. Gary is definitely not one of those!
4. When he DJ's people inevitably find themselves dancing and having fun.
Basically, if you hire Gary as your wedding DJ you will not be disappointed. He will play songs you haven't heard in a while and didn't realize you have been longing to hear. Gary is also easy to work with and fun to be around. You can't go wrong!

So, 2 weeks have passed, and we still can't stop thinking about how amazing you were at our wedding. You wouldn't believe how many people have complimented you, asked about you, sang your praises. . . you were almost as popular as we were!
When we had our first meeting, discussing songs, I never would have imagined how spot on you were with your song selections. Not a note was out of place, no cue was missed, and you kept them dancing all night long. We only wish that we could have brought you back to the hotel bar to spin some more songs there. I feel confident saying that you are one of the best in the business and that you will continue to go on making couples like us happy for a very long time. You were professional, fun, open, inviting, and just a great addition to our night. You made our wedding awesome, and Wendi and I wanted to thank you so very much for everything.

Just want to say thank you so much for a kick ass wedding. You really did a fabulous job. Just got back on Saturday from a two week honeymoon in Hawaii. We got to see a lot of the pictures of our family and friends and in all of the pictures you notice one thing…everyone is dancing and having a blast…all ages. Our large wedding party and number of guests was probably a lot to handle, however, you did it with confidence and professionalism. Thanks again it’s been a pleasure.

My husband and I are music-heads and our guest list was full of them. We really wanted to impress everyone at our wedding with a DJ who could show his music intelligence without showing off. Gary did just that without saying a word on the mic. He was like a mindreader spinning the perfect songs for the perfect moments. We were never more impressed than when he played some favorite tunes that we forgot to put on our oppressively long request list. Our event agenda switched up a few times, and Gary just rolled with it, continuing to read the crowd and the moment and play just the right songs. We wish our wedding was an hour longer so he could've kept on spinning, especially the vinyl!

Gary is an excellent choice. He will DJ without the "ringmaster" effect.
He's cool, laid back and knowledgeable. My wedding was in September and Gary did a phenomenal job. He did the announcements without issue and accommodated all of our needs. He's extremely professional and takes his job seriously. Gary played everything we requested of him and then surprised us with some soul, pop, hip hop, and cheesy 80's, which I personally love. When we asked him not to play the group dance songs such as Macarena and YMCA, he happily accommodated.
Everyone was dancing all night long!
Gary went over everything 2 weeks before the reception and remembered a lot of things we would have missed. He lowered the tempo for cocktails, dinner, and speeches and got the party started when people wanted to dance.

We were so lucky to have Gary DJ our wedding on Sept. 2nd. He was awesome. Gary is extremely easy to work with and respected all of our requests while providing us with great suggestions. He is laid back but super efficient and extremely approachable. He totally set the vibe for the whole night and everybody LOVED his music. Not only was he able to get people to come out and dance, but he is great at keeping people on the floor. He was also great with making transitions - from fast to slow songs and for announcements, etc. I can't say enough about him. Not only did we love him, but so many of our guests commented on how great he was. One guest said it was the best wedding music he's heard in a long time and a few others said that he was like the best wedding DJ they'd heard. He will be great and I'm sure you will all be extremely happy, so you don't have to have any reservations about music. Enjoy your day and know that with Gary, you'll have 1 less thing to stress about!

I want to thank you SO much for DJ’ing at our wedding. You truly were a large part of making it a great party and an absolute pleasure to work with. You were professional, friendly, courteous, responsible, collaborative, and seemed to really enjoy yourself. I had a lot of musicians, DJ’s and dancers at my wedding and they all commented on your skills. From the first song to the last, the crowd never stopped dancing and the dance floor was always packed, which was exactly what we wanted. We truly hope that we get a chance to work together again.

experience ever on your day. His wide range of music and his
knowledge of different genres means that he can sit with you
beforehand and plan what you as a couple want, as well as learning
about your guests and what will make them happy. More than anything
in my experience and in the experiences of other couples I've spoken

Gary was perfect for our wedding. My father had a lot of requests and so did we. Gary was able to take a wide variety of pre-wedding requests and make them flow into one big party. He made himself very available to us before our wedding and was prepared for the big day.

Gary is excellent! He had great taste, was very cooperative and was completely accountable. Gary worked with us to insure that our affair was how we envisioned it. If he doesn't have a particular selection or style of music, he'll acquire it for you. Gary can also be left to his own devices and won't hijack your event with tasteless nonsense while you are tending to your guests. I highly recommend Gary!

Gary DJ'd a 40th birthday bash for my wife here in CT. We met Gary when he worked our friend's wedding in the city and both events were great successes. We went over a play list with him but Gary got it right away and we had no worries. He came and looked at the party space beforehand and provided us and all our friends with a fun evening. He takes his work very seriously and we would highly recommend him for any event.

We loved Gary. He was professional and open to craft the playlists and
evening exactly how we wanted. We had a bit of a non traditional wedding by including a "celebrity roast" type portion in which many of our guests would come up and make fun of us. Gary's task was to play the "walk off music" once they hit the 3 minute mark. He controlled the mic, the music everything perfectly. Of course, we had a lot of dancing and his playlist fit our description of what we wanted perfectly. He played all our must have songs in perfect mix. I highly recommend Gary.

gary djed our wedding in LIC in 2005. we were not looking for someone to mc our wedding. we simply could not stand the thought of someone urging our family and friends to get up and do the chicken dance, or who really didn't understand what a hip urban NYC wedding was about. instead we wanted someone who would pay attention, read the crowd, use his skills to keep the vibe loungy and upbeat during the cocktail hour and know when to kick it up a notch for dancing time. gary was great. all of our guests simply loved him (as did we). everyone danced their asses off, so that certainly helped feed the sentiment that the dj rocked. yet, gary did a perfect job keeping things up beat yet mellow enough to enjoy everyone's company when it was time to eat. in short, he read the crowd, knew his music and played stuff everyone loved which is exactly what a good dj does. gary is easy going, but knows what he's doing and followed through with everything he promised. he'll take your specific requests but even without them he still sets the right tone all night. he'll direct your guests when you need, but will not ever consider fog lights or doing the hustle. he's the kind of guy you are glad to have at your wedding and you'd like to hang out with after the festivities end. he gave us some sample cds of his general tunes, which we still play at gatherings at our apt.
