DJ Gaza ROCKED my wedding to say the least! People had an incredible time and told us our wedding was one of the most fun weddings they have been to in a long time and this is coming from a hard to please crowd of mixed Brooklynite music snobs, Dj́s, musicians , west coast Phish heads and hip hop lovers to also pleasing my parents crowd. It was a full on dance party the entire time. He is really the best. Super professional, doesńt talk to much like other Dj's and just totally knows how to make a party explode. Being the crazy wedding planning freak that I am, I had very select vendors in mind from way in the beginning. I knew which hair/makeup artists I wanted, florist, etc. But when it came to the DJ, I was dumbfounded. Having been to many, many weddings in the past, my fiance and I both knew the DJ could either make or break our wedding reception, so we waited and researched to find the one DJ that would MAKE our wedding. After stumbling upon Gary's impressive resume and feedback online (also affectionately known as 'DJ Gaza') I was intrigued and decided to place a call and set up a meeting. I wasn't expecting much, but Gary sure exceeded the negative expectations I came with. Gary is so organized, it puts even me to shame. He came with different CDs of his mixes and a bunch of questions that I haven't even thought of. Best of all, he knew our reception place (The Foundry) like the back of his hand. The deal was set. A month before our wedding (which was about 9 months or so after we had initially met) he came all prepared with questions and answers and alleviated my biggest fears of having sucky music played at our wedding. (We were also neurotic and gave him a must-play list, which he completely abided by.) On the wedding day, I kid you not, he showed up like 5 hours early to start prepping. He was the one vendor that I had absolutely no problems with and trusted 100% to do his job right. Our friends will all testify and say that our reception was one of the most fun that they've attended... and Gary's professionalism and talent had all to do with it. Thanks so much for making our wedding a BLAST! You were so easy-going and flexible and made sure Dave and I were both happy from beginning to end. I'd recommend Gary to anyone looking for an awesome DJ that'll make your night!

Gaza managed to put everyone on the dance floor from the very first songs. The energy of the mix was intense and continuous. All the generations were dancing all together. I never attended a party that went as good from the start until the end. At the end of the evening, a lot of young kids including a Five year old were dancing non-stop to the tunes of the recent Pop and R & B Charts. It was funny and really cute to feel that even the young ones were having so much fun.

I have nothing but good things to say about Gary. He was a huge help as an emcee at the event, making introductions at the reception and ushering the process along from cocktail hour to first dance to dinner to dancing. He has a great range of music and he was able to mix his tracks on the spot to suit our guests who were making requests left and right. He played our requested songs and mixed in tracks to make it all seamless. He was there very early to set up, and even though the partying went late, he did not start breaking down until all our guests had left. All in all he had a great command of the whole event yet never took the spotlight from our wedding party.

Gary did a great job filling up our dance floor and getting everyone to dance. During the reception, it can be tough to get in all of the mandatory things to do (speeches, dinner, cake cutting, parent dances etc.) Gary did a great job in not allowing these events to kill the fun of the reception. My friends keep telling us how much fun they had at our wedding. He was on-time and finished setting up earlier than expected (even though he set up the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception equipment) He is a fantastic value! What we didn't realize until the day of is that my friend also used him for her wedding, which we attended the year before. We also had a great time at their wedding as guests! If you want a good time at your reception and your guests to dance and have fun, then he is the guy to go to.

From our first meeting with Gary both my wife and I walked away with a very positive feeling. Gary was very professional and had a relaxed way of conveying his work and how it fits into making the wedding night even more memorable. Being of Latin descent, I asked Gary to include some songs which included Cumbia, Salsa and Merengue. Gary did a great job mixing my requests with all the other songs he played (some we requested and others he did). His MC skills were on target, not intrusive and on time when we needed him for the typical toasts and announcements. All our guests were delighted with the music Gary played and most of them hit the dance floor at one point or another, including some people who typically would not dance. DJ Gaza was absolutely amazing for our wedding. We still get compliments about the music all the time. Gary is absolutely wonderful at doing whatever you want him to do: he can either stick to your requests completely or read the crowd and vibe off of what will make them excited and happy. He is unbelievably talented in both regards. Every single person at our wedding was on the dance floor and the feeling was incredible. Gary just builds this wonderful energy with music and you can't help but feel the joy and celebration throughout the whole event. On top of everything else, he is the most organized, reliable vendor you will have - I still say that he was the best vendor I worked with throughout the entire process. It was completely non-stress, no-brainer because he made everything so easy. We can't recommend him enough! We feel lucky to have had him be a part of our wedding.

I would recommend Gary (a.k.a. DJ Gaza) 1000000000000000000000000000%!!! He was incredible! Outstanding, professional, prepared, organized, NICE, considerate, polite, sweet, knowledgeable, and all around awesome. We have absolutely no regrets whatsoever with hiring Gary. In fact he made it BETTER than imaginable. And everyone kept complimenting our choice in DJ. His expertise is flawless. He'll ask you fo an overall idea/song list you'd like but will be more than able to assist you with such . On the day of, you can rest assured he will be able to read the crowd and the mood perfectly. Really, most of my friends are either performers, musicians, actors, dancers, artists, etc. and the family members were slightly older and everyone was dancing and even more important, SINCERELY enjoying themselves. I could not recommend him more. Things went exactly as prepared (he even showed up earlier than necessary) and he was always prepared, neat, respectful, and more than any of that, knew how to get the party started and keep it rolling all night long. He is very sensitive to YOUR evening and will do everything he can to make sure that YOU are happy. He is utterly in tunes with the moods of the evening and always respectful of you selections and wishes.

Gary was fantastic. We felt from the start that he was extremely professional easy and fun to work with. He was also very experienced with our venue, and really understood the pace/demands/schedule of wedding music. Only by planning a wedding does one realize how important the DJ is in creating the mood of the evening, and I felt that he played a large role in creating a very celebratory, fun event. Also, now I appreciate his skill and intuition in responding to the diverse musical tastes of a multi generational and multiethnic crowd (very different than playing at a club) and in coordinating the music around the "events" of the night, like wedding party entrances, dinner music, toasts, dancing, etc. My husband put a lot of work into our playlist of about 30-40 songs that we loved. Gary used the list to understand our musical taste, the played about half to two thirds of the songs, with the rest of the music picked by him. To Gary's credit, I don't think I've ever danced as much at a wedding as I did my own, and a lot of people were dancing with us too!

Speaking as a full time wedding videographer and now a recent husband, I can vouch for Gary’s level of talent and organization skills. My reception served wonderful food and showcased a stylish ambience but, with an empty dance floor, would have been a flop with an empty dance floor. Thanks to a DJ with lots of experience, no cheesiness, and great follow up skills, a fully packed dance floor will sufficiently answer any bride who would wonder whether she should hire Gary or not

We were very happy with Gary. He's not only enthusiastic and informed, but also incredibly diligent, organized, and responsible - which you will appreciate when you're in the middle of the chaos of preparations & wedding. He also worked well with the other support people - photographer, caterers, etc.

He will look carefully at your song list, but also make suggestions of his own based on his experience with wedding crowds. We felt like he "got" us - he understood what we liked - to the point where we felt free to turn him loose and let him judge the mood of the crowd rather than stick to an inflexible preset playlist. And everyone there complimented us on the DJ - it was a great time. So we can't recommend Gary highly enough!

Gary is awesome. If you want a DJ who talks a lot to get people going and is chatty, he's probably not your man. If you want a DJ that gives out toys and plastic hats and little maracas...he's definitely not your guy. But he'll definitely get the crowd going with his music. He's very thorough which really helped us to imagine how the wedding day was going to go. My husband and I gave him a few MUST play songs (which he gladly played that night) and a bunch of play-if-you-want-to list. The rest was all him. We're from a Filipino family and they LOVE to line dance so as soon as the crowd heard that kind of music they were up on the stage for a good 3 or 4 songs. We also liked that he consulted with us first if there were any change of plans and kept us informed with the timing of events ie: father/daughter dance, cake cutting, money dance, etc. because when its the actual day, you forget what the timeline of events are. The night flew by so fast and so smoothly.

Everything worked out really well with DJ Gaza! His attitude really clicked with ours. He is on top of everything, but he also gives really good advice (if you want it) about what makes a really good party. He's not into really tacky DJ stuff, which he'll explain to you
himself... If you haven't met with him yet, you should meet with him and see how he approaches everything. He's a real pro, very meticulous and really a nice guy.

He gave us 6 CDs or something to listen to for examples of his work. The transitions were really cool on those discs, I remember. I'd probably dig them out and put them on for a mellow party or something now that I think about it. Based on his general attitude, his ideas about how to approach the songlist and different aspects of the wedding, his general advice and the work on those 6 CDs, this is how we made our choice to go with DJ Gaza.

He really has everything in his bag of tricks, but he doesn't pump out obscure club stuff or b-sides. He could certainly do that if you asked, but I think his choices were perfect. Every table I went to, people would say, "I love this music!" from older to younger people.
It kind of surprised me a little bit, actually. He set up for the ceremony and played some really cool stuff as people were settling in; some of the most tasteful jazz I've ever heard that everyone also loved, including my mom who hates jazz.

We basically chose 15 songs and left the rest up to him. The stuff he chose went perfectly with our taste. He didn't do anything tacky and was very into doing the best job possible. He had set up Plan A and Plan B for a few moments because he wanted to read the crowd rather than just blasting out dance music if nobody felt like dancing. All in all, the night went perfectly.

He is very thorough and methodical. What's really cool is he has everything covered and you don't have to worry about anything. He came up to us at one point at the reception based on the Plan A / Plan B thing and said, "I think the crowd seems like X, what do you guys think?" and we were like "yeah!" and it was as simple as that. He read the crowd well and basically did what people were feeling.

Also, he won't play audience requests if you ask him not to and he'sreal polite and cool about it so people don't feel shunned. At the endof the night, a bunch of drunk stragglers started making dumb suggestions to him and he checked with us before he played anything that didn't fit with the rest of the music.

We basically found him from a listing on TheKnot.com and met with him and checked his references. Everyone we spoke with highly recommended him and we ALMOST weren't able to get him because he's prettyin-demand, I guess. So, yes, I highly recommend him if you want a classy event. I've seen some really tacky and annoying wedding DJs in my time and I'm so glad we didn't get stuck with someone like that!

DJ Gaza, Gary Hoffman, was a true professional from beginning to end. From our initial meeting to our final wedding day, I never doubted his abilities, suggestions or talent. Gary always answered my calls and emails within a 24 hour period, which when you are dealing with multiple vendors…is so important to an often stressed out bride. Whether it was 1 week, 1 month or a year before the wedding date, he always made us feel like we were top priority. He has incredible taste in music and worked with us to make sure our taste was also reflected in the choices being played. My husband and I love music but we often turned to him with questions to make sure our choices would translate to the wedding atmosphere. I always trusted his opinion. We still have guests complementing and raving about the fantastic selection! There was something for everyone played at the reception, a perfect balance of dinner and dancing music for all tastes, both young and old. All of the music complemented the ambience and mood of our affair! And in the end, our guests also said it was "so us" as a couple. I feel very confident in recommending DJ Gaza for your event!

Gary did an incredible job, I couldn’t imagine things going any better. Before the wedding he was the most relaxed and professional of all our vendors. We gave him just a few song requests and let him handle the rest as he saw fit. On the day of Gary was setup before we arrived and did an amazing job of coordinating with the reverend to mic and play the ceremony….throughout the night he was always on top of the schedule and making sure everything went smoothly (speeches, first dances, etc). There are two things that I think were the most admirable traits that Gary displayed during our wedding. First was his ability to incorporate every song we had asked for into his set. He had asked us to provide a request list two weeks before the wedding and was able to squeeze everything into the party - from Bon Jovi to Frank Sinatra to A Tribe Called Quest. The mixes were clean and seamless and the dance floor was always packed. The second most notable trait was Gary's passion for music and his constant follow up with us during the event. At least three times Gary came over to me or my wife and made sure we were being informed and included on the parties progression. On the mic Gary was professional and tasteful. We didn't want the DJ to be the star of the show, but I'm sure if you asked him, he could. All in all we were totally thrilled with Gary's performance and frankly, for the fee he charges, feel we got well more than our money's worth. Seeing what my wife went through I'm glad we chose Gary so early. It was certainly one less thing to worry about in the long run.

We just got back from St. Martin and wanted to say thank you so much for doing a great job at our wedding! I kept meaning to talk to people, but the kick ass tunes kept me on the dance floor, and as I'm sure you saw, we had some crazy dancers out there for much of the night. Between cartwheels, various approaches to the Robot, and dances that cannot be described in words, it was clear from guests' moves that everyone had an awesome time, much of which can be attributed to your reading of the crowd and great music choices. Gary was nothing less than perfect! He is so attentive and sweet, so understanding and comforting. He absolutely listened to all of our requests and he really knew how to work the crowd. Our guests danced all night. There was such high energy, people were absolutely loving the music!!

Gary was an AMAZING dj for our wedding, he was extremely well organized from the beginning, making sure we were covered in every aspect from the ceremony, through to the last dance. He was accommodating, and flexible during the planning process, and was always responsive to emails, phone calls, and questions we posed for him.

Of course, the most important thing - he was an amazing DJ the night of our wedding. All of our guests, young and old, complimented us on the job he did. The music was quiet at the right times, bumping at the right times, and he fit the mood from our introductions, to cake cutting and all the other mini events of the evening.

We gave Gary a short list of songs, and left the majority of the planning up to him after sharing our tastes, and he was right on all night.

In short, we truly loved his work, and work ethic. He was positive and accommodating, helpful and on time :)

We had our wedding on 6/2708 and it was amazing. Gary was at the place venue 3 hours before the ceremony started. He set-up speakers for the outside ceremony, set-up speakers in the room for the Cocktail hour and also set-up a home base in the room where the reception was to take place. Everything we asked him to do was done and taken care of. Throughout the night he kept us updated on what his ideas where for the next group of songs. We gave him a relatively small list of songs and only required him to play abut five. We literally left it up to him. My family is largely Italian and very traditional, some-how someway, Gary got everyone up and dancing and I had many of my relatives dancing around and having a great time. I really could not be more pleased with him and his service. He is down to earth and just gets it. Most of the other DJ's we talked to didn't appear to care what we wanted, it was almost like they were telling me how they will do it based on an outline of how they do every wedding. Gary was excited to try some new levels, and he had a lot of fun working WITH us to get the right vibe and song selections. Loved him!!!! Put down the deposit, Gary is the man!!

Many of our friends commented on how they had never seen a dj wearing a suit and tie. It is but one mark of Gary's utter professionalism and we were thrilled that he kept us dancing even after we were exhausted. Gary kept a close eye and ear on the vibe of the room, switching seamlessly between songs. Additionally he had the experience to ask us to adjust the time and pacing of the cake cutting to accommodate more and sustained dancing versus breaking the dancing into shorter 30-45 minute segments where we might lose the energy of the room. Gary might dj for a lot of us independently-minded brides but he is intent on providing a solid and fun experience all around. His dj skills helped to make the night a fun, easy, and relaxing one for the bride and groom.

Plus he is a genuinely nice guy and very calm. I have found it really helps to work with calm vendors when you get stressed because they can help in righting your ship. Moreover he didn't add to the stress unlike other vendors we interviewed by saying that we "had to" play an entrance song, a cake cutting song or a parents' dance song and he was very flexible and worked with us on playing songs he knew that we would enjoy as much as our guests. We really appreciated his can do attitude and calm demeanor, plus it is evident that he loves what he does.

Gary was a DJ at our wedding this past Saturday and I would say that my level of satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 5 would be 5+++. I really don't have anything negative to say about him. He was a dream to work with, both before the wedding and during the wedding. He is extremely organized and made my pre-wedding planning very easy. He was in touch with me just enough, but not too much. His level of professionalism is really incomparable to anyone else.

He did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Everything was fantastic. He played all of the music we wanted to hear and did not play any of our do not play songs. At one point during the wedding I looked around an saw every single one of our tables empty and that's because everyone was on the floor dancing. I can not tell you what a great feeling that was. DJ Gaza was truly the foundation for what turned out to be an amazing night. For me (a former NYC club girl) and my husband (a European with an extensive and diverse range of taste), music was both the most important and most challenging part of the wedding planning. Challenging only because we needed a dj who could appreciate our musical tastes as well as our families. We are all dancers and we danced madly and happily the whole night. There was not a single song Gary played that I felt I could sit out on. And I can't tell you how unbelievably picky I can be about this whole thing. I gave Gary an extensive play list and asked him to take it and expand on it. He perfectly calibrated the night to our musical tastes and then brought it somewhere even better. My wife and I were extremely happy with Gary's work. After the first time we met him we looked at each other with a sense of relief that we no longer had to worry about the music, he had it covered. He was so professional each time we met, and his skill as a DJ was very clear. We had a Sunday night wedding so people weren't in as much of an all-out party mood, but he had the floor really moving. For the very few MC duties we needed him for (announcing speeches) he was great. We did a full sit-down dinner with more mellow music, and then after dinner got the dance party going... for the mellow music I gave Gary a list of some hard to find songs and he found most of them, and then expanded on my taste with some songs that I loved, and fit really well with the rest of the set. For the dancing part of the night, we gave him just a couple of requests and told him to just make sure people were out on the floor, he worked it like a true professional! If you've found Gary, look no further, he's got you covered!

Gary was great! My guest loved him – from the 18 year old to the 85 year old. We were looking for someone that wasn’t that over the top, corny DJ and that was Gary. We told him what we didn’t want to hear and a handful of what we did and let him take care of everything else. We had no interest in putting a play list together for him. DJ Gaza did an excellent job at our wedding. We had a conservative budget but music was very important to us. We really wanted the whole reception to be a large party and he delivered just that. We like music you can dance to...a club type atmosphere. He did that perfectly, really better than I could have expected. Everyone had a fantastic time and the reception ended up going on for an extra hour. We were all having so much fun. He’s a really good guy and did 99.9% of what he said he’ll do. We did not want a wedding with interactive songs or a DJ that gets involved speaking or that type of stuff. DJ Gaza did exactly what we wanted and we thought he was the best!

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon and we’re STILL listening to people rave about how much they liked Gary’s music! To give you some background, we had a non-traditional wedding. We had an "extended" cocktail hour specifically because we wanted to promote socializing and keep everyone our of their seats and dancing. My wife and I have some particular music tastes. We are pretty social and very particular about our music. We did NOT want to hear any of the "traditional" wedding songs and we really wanted to throw a fun party.

I loved everything about Gary’s work. He was unbelievably professional. He worked PERFECTLY with the photographer, caterer, and venue. He helped us with timing our event and controlling the crowd. He was almost like a wedding planner because he lent his extensive experience to what works best and WHEN it should work. He was so abatable to the crowd and kept everyone moving and having fun all night long. He also incorporated 90% of our "suggested music" list into the night. Best of all, he seemed like he had a great time with the music and his good vibes spilled out into the crowd.

Again, our guests were in shock about how much fun they had. Per our request, most of the music was geared to the younger crowd but even older guests had a great time. True story: at one point, my brother-in-laws mother (she’s in her 60's and literally hasn’t had a night out dancing in about 20 years) just got up out of her chair and started dancing because she couldn’t help herself. Most (if not all) of our guests said it was the BEST reception they’d ever been to.

If you are hiring Gary, plan on having a lively and fluid event. Give him creative space to help work with you and he will drive the event (from planning, to setup, to execution). Make sure he’s keyed in to all of your other vendors so they are all comfortable working together. Make sure he knows what you want so he can make suggestions of his own. It would be a waste of his talent to force feed him YOUR unwavering idea of what your event should be.

My wife and I have a lot of DJ and industry friends. Before we met Gary, most of our other candidates were big room club DJ’s with much less wedding experience. We also used the NY Wedding’s magazine vendor list to cold call a few other DJ’s. Our recently married friends also made some recommendations. After all the consideration and all the phone calls, we met with Gary and KNEW he was perfect. We did not meet with anyone else after the first exchange. The thing that tipped the scales was Gary’s professionalism, his good nature, good vibes, and extensive wedding experience.

I have nothing negative to say about Gary. In no exaggeration, he was perfect.

We used DJ Gaza (aka Gary) for our wedding in October 2007 and were VERY happy with him! He was very professional and just a great all around DJ! He always replied promptly to any questions we had and showed up on time for each of our meetings (actually, he beat us there!) He asked all the right questions and really came to know exactly what we wanted. He played everything we asked him to, and NOTHING from our "do not play" list. We wanted a DJ who would play great music without being cheesy, and he was absolutely perfect in that role! He was able to keep people dancing late into the night, even on a Sunday night! He was very flexible and was willing to play as many or as few of our choices as we wanted. We gave him a lot of leeway to play what he wanted as well and were very happy with that choice. He always knew when to change tempo or fade out a song if people weren't dancing; he definitely paid attention to the "vibe" of the room and kept everyone happy!

We had a fantastic time, and every time we speak to a guest they're always really excited to tell us how great it was. We're really proud of the whole event, and obviously the music was a huge part of it. I'm not normally much of a dancer, but found myself on the dance floor every chance I got. We both thank you for your professionalism, flexibility, and generally making the party go so well. It was a big help to us that you were willing to put in the time beforehand to get to know us, listen, and advise and we really appreciate it.

Gary, first, let me thank you! You are so amazing, and we were so unbelievably happy with your whole set, and our entire experience interacting with you as a "vendor". Throughout the night, I kept looking over at you as you were mixing, and it just looked so awesome. I really felt like I had such a professional doing my reception. All the guests were blown away by the song selection and the incredible mixing. It was always fun to see a new throng of partiers rushing the dance floor as they heard the beginning elements of a new song through the one already playing. You know how important the mixing was to me, and I have to say, your sample CDs, while great, don't even do half the justice to your skill in person. Amazing!

My calves are still sore today from dancing all night long. Kase said that it had to have been my perfect night, since I didn't leave the dance floor once. I was joking around with him about how we seated my "dancing" friends near the floor to get the party started, but I can see from the photos how unnecessary that was. It looks like there was a bum rush onto the floor after the dance with my father, and it looks as if the dance floor expanded past the point where it ended. I think that speaks volumes. My father wrote to say he is still on a high, and I have to agree. It was such a wonderful party and you were the major reason for that. THANK YOU!

I would definitely recommend Gaza to DJ your event. In our initial meeting he gave us some mixed CDs (surprisingly unlike most other DJs we met with) to hear his musical style and mixing skills. I am a DJ myself, so this went a long way for me. Especially since I am aware that most wedding DJ’s simply end one track and start another or use a generic fade. This may or may not be important to you, but it really does make a difference to the overall party when someone layers and builds on the vibe from track to track.

Gary was very professional and made sure to get to the venue early to take care of additional set up needs. Things went off without a hitch. He played an excellent mix of our requests and his own touches, giving the cocktail hour a really cool vibe. After the first dance, he kicked it up instantly and had everyone dancing all night. Seriously. We had a blast! I have friends that are getting married in other states (even as far as Portland, OR) that asked me if they thought he would fly out.

There is also one more way in which Gary is the antithesis of the "standard" wedding DJ, and that is with his MC’ing. He got with us on just what parts we needed announced
(cake cutting, speeches, first dance), but didn't go gabbing all night about this and that or "everybody get on the dance floor" (so annoying!). Instead, he let the music speak for itself and people were out there all night.

I can't really think of anything we didn't like. We really did have the perfect night, and 2 weeks later, everyone is still talking about it. Part of which definitely has to do with Gary setting up the right vibe. My wife is even talking about asking her company about
having him DJ their Christmas party.

Gary was AWESOME and there is nothing more we could have asked for. We found out about him through our wedding consultant/planner, who is herself very accomplished and great at what she does. She had already worked with Gary several times and she recommended him highly.

Gary is personally wonderful to work with. At a time when we were
stressed out, he was calm and laid-back. We took forever to get our
request list to him, but he took whatever info he did have from us,and used that to figure out what we would like played. So when we got
around to giving him specific requests, he had already done the
groundwork.

Gary was a wonderful accomplice when we wanted to spice the wedding up a little bit. For our recessional, we played Pachelbel's Canon in D,
but a version that suddenly breaks out into electric guitar and 80's
style rock. Gary was delighted with the personal touch, and he took
care to time the music perfectly, so that the music started to rock
out just as we got to the end of the aisle, giving us the chance to
see our guests react to the unexpected change in the music.

Besides the Pachelbel stunt, we really wanted the wedding to be an
elegant and classy affair, and Gary was perfect for that. He lets the
music take the foreground; there was no awkward loud booming from the
DJ telling people to get up and dance with plastic inflatable
flamingoes or saxophones. He stayed very much in the background,
coming forward only when he was MC'ing, for example when he made the
introductions to the bridal party or called on people to make the
toasts, and then doing so graciously.

We don't think there's anything more that we could have
asked for in a DJ. Of all our vendors, he was the easiest to contact
and the easiest to talk to and the easiest to work with - which is
high praise because all our vendors were awesome.

We used Gary for our wedding in April. He was great. We didn't even interview anyone else since. I sent out an email asking for feedback and got back so many glowing responses that it seemed like a no brainer to have him DJ the wedding. All the positive feedback didn't have me worried about the music aspect of the wedding at all.

Gary did the music for our ceremony and reception. He played our "must plays" and didn't play any songs from our "no play" list. When he threw in his own stuff, they were songs that we liked as well. He just seemed to get our taste right away.

One thing that really impressed me is that he came to set up for the wedding two and a half hours before the ceremony! The reception place didn't even want him to come until a half hour before, so he solved that problem by just showing up early anyway, and hoping they would let him set up, and if not, he was fine with just sitting with his equipment and waiting versus arriving, being all nervous, and running around like crazy a half hour before the ceremony. There were no unwelcomed surprises at all. He even handled my drunk friends and family who were requesting music to no end. When they asked for music I didn't want, he was very polite about telling them no.

In short, Gary was professional, informative and just plain nice. He was not cheesy at all and MC'd great. We are very glad we used him! He is a real DJ who can actually mix and and has DJ equipment (turntables) and not just a laptop and speakers.

Gary was better than can be imagined and we were not exactly the easiest couple to deal with! Gary is very organized and a pleasure to work with. His experience is extreamly helpful when you are planning something that you have never done before, like a wedding. He asks questions you never would have thought of and is prepared for anything. Not only did we delay answering questions he had until 2 days before our wedding, but on the day of, due to an unfortunate family event, we had to make last minute changes and he still made things run as if he had been prepared for weeks.

He also caters to your musical needs. You will provide him with a list of songs and he will use it as a foundation to create a playlist for you and your guests and will improvise by reading the crowd which worked wonders during my wedding. A friend of mine is a DJ and she came up to me and raved about him and the way he mixed the songs and the music selection, so, I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with DJ Gaza!!!

My husband and I are music-heads and our guest list was full of them. We really wanted to impress everyone at our wedding with a DJ who could show his music intelligence without showing off. Gary did just that without saying a word on the mic. He was like a mindreader spinning the perfect songs for the perfect moments. We were never more impressed than when he played some favorite tunes that we forgot to put on our oppressively long request list. Our event agenda switched up a few times, and Gary just rolled with it, continuing to read the crowd and the moment and play just the right songs. Gary is an excellent choice. He will DJ without the "ringmaster" effect.
He's cool, laid back and knowledgeable. My wedding was in September and Gary did a phenomenal job. He did the announcements without issue and accommodated all of our needs. He's extremely professional and takes his job seriously. Gary played everything we requested of him and then surprised us with some soul, pop, hip hop, and cheesy 80's, which I personally love. When we asked him not to play the group dance songs such as Macarena and YMCA, he happily accommodated.
Everyone was dancing all night long!
Gary went over everything 2 weeks before the reception and remembered a lot of things we would have missed. He lowered the tempo for cocktails, dinner, and speeches and got the party started when people wanted to dance.

We were so lucky to have Gary DJ our wedding on Sept. 2nd. He was awesome. Gary is extremely easy to work with and respected all of our requests while providing us with great suggestions. He is laid back but super efficient and extremely approachable. He totally set the vibe for the whole night and everybody LOVED his music. Not only was he able to get people to come out and dance, but he is great at keeping people on the floor. He was also great with making transitions - from fast to slow songs and for announcements, etc. I can't say enough about him. Not only did we love him, but so many of our guests commented on how great he was. One guest said it was the best wedding music he's heard in a long time and a few others said that he was like the best wedding DJ they'd heard. He will be great and I'm sure you will all be extremely happy, so you don't have to have any reservations about music. Enjoy your day and know that with Gary, you'll have 1 less thing to stress about!

I want to thank you SO much for DJ’ing at our wedding. You truly were a large part of making it a great party and an absolute pleasure to work with. You were professional, friendly, courteous, responsible, collaborative, and seemed to really enjoy yourself. I had a lot of musicians, DJ’s and dancers at my wedding and they all commented on your skills. From the first song to the last, the crowd never stopped dancing and the dance floor was always packed, which was exactly what we wanted. We truly hope that we get a chance to work together again.

Gary was great! He took our list of songs, added his own song ideas, and got folks dancing!! His professionalism before, during, and after the big, day helped put our minds at ease amid the other stress we had to deal with. On a scale from one to ten, I give him an "eleven."

I have had the pleasure of both working with Gary at weddings and
having him dj at mine and I have nothing but praise for him. He isreliable, professional and genuinely concerned that you have the best
experience ever on your day. His wide range of music and his
knowledge of different genres means that he can sit with you
beforehand and plan what you as a couple want, as well as learning
about your guests and what will make them happy. More than anything
in my experience and in the experiences of other couples I've spoken
with, having Gary as your DJ means it's one less thing you
have worry about. Which on a day as potentially stressful as your
wedding day is worth it's weight in gold. Whatever your decision,

Gary was perfect for our wedding. My father had a lot of requests and so did we. Gary was able to take a wide variety of pre-wedding requests and make them flow into one big party. He made himself very available to us before our wedding and was prepared for the big day.

Gary is excellent! He had great taste, was very cooperative and was completely accountable. Gary worked with us to insure that our affair was how we envisioned it. If he doesn't have a particular selection or style of music, he'll acquire it for you. Gary can also be left to his own devices and won't hijack your event with tasteless nonsense while you are tending to your guests. I highly recommend Gary!

We loved working with Gary. He was on time and really cared about our music preferences. He really paid attention to the crowd and flow of party and even had the restaurant staff dancing. I should also mention that he is a super nice guy. Highly recommend!!

Gary DJ'd a 40th birthday bash for my wife here in CT. We met Gary when he worked our friend's wedding in the city and both events were great successes. We went over a play list with him but Gary got it right away and we had no worries. He came and looked at the party space beforehand and provided us and all our friends with a fun evening. He takes his work very seriously and we would highly recommend him for any event.

gary djed our wedding in LIC in 2005. we were not looking for someone to mc our wedding. we simply could not stand the thought of someone urging our family and friends to get up and do the chicken dance, or who really didn't understand what a hip urban NYC wedding was about. instead we wanted someone who would pay attention, read the crowd, use his skills to keep the vibe loungy and upbeat during the cocktail hour and know when to kick it up a notch for dancing time. gary was great. all of our guests simply loved him (as did we). everyone danced their asses off, so that certainly helped feed the sentiment that the dj rocked. yet, gary did a perfect job keeping things up beat yet mellow enough to enjoy everyone's company when it was time to eat. in short, he read the crowd, knew his music and played stuff everyone loved which is exactly what a good dj does. gary is easy going, but knows what he's doing and followed through with everything he promised. he'll take your specific requests but even without them he still sets the right tone all night. he'll direct your guests when you need, but will not ever consider fog lights or doing the hustle. he's the kind of guy you are glad to have at your wedding and you'd like to hang out with after the festivities end. he gave us some sample cds of his general tunes, which we still play at gatherings at our apt.

We loved Gary. He was professional and open to craft the playlists and
evening exactly how we wanted. We had a bit of a non traditional wedding by including a "celebrity roast" type portion in which many of our guests would come up and make fun of us. Gary's task was to play the "walk off music" once they hit the 3 minute mark. He controlled the mic, the music everything perfectly. Of course, we had a lot of dancing and his playlist fit our description of what we wanted perfectly. He played all our must have songs in perfect mix. I highly recommend Gary.
